退院して、
家に戻ってきた日。
The day I came home
from the hospital,
いつもの景色が、
どこかやわらかく感じられた。
Everything looked
gently familiar,
and yet,
slightly new.
いない間のことが、
ずっと気がかりだった。
While I was away,
I couldn’t stop thinking—
仕事はどうなっているだろう。
子どもたちは大丈夫だろうか。
about work,
about my children,
about everything
I had left behind.
でも、戻ってみると、
思っていたよりも、ずっと大丈夫だった。
But when I returned,
I found that things
were more alright
than I had imagined.
それぞれの場所で、
それぞれに考えて、
ちゃんとやっていた。
Life had been moving on,
quietly, steadily,
in its own way.
その姿に、
少し驚いて、
少し安心して、
Each of them,
in their own place,
thinking,
figuring things out,
and carrying on.
そして、少しだけ、
さみしいような気持ちにもなった。
I felt relieved—
and at the same time,
just a little left behind.
ああ、ちゃんと成長しているんだな、と。
Ah…
they are growing,
I thought.

そしてもうひとつ、
強く感じたことがある。
And there was something else
I noticed,
more deeply than before.
ごはんを食べること。
笑うこと。
眠ること。
To eat.
To laugh.
To sleep.
それが、
こんなにもありがたいことだったんだと、
あらためて気づいた。
Such simple things—
and yet,
how precious they are.
当たり前だと思っていたことは、
当たり前じゃなかった。
What I once thought
was “ordinary”
was never guaranteed.
わかっているつもりで、
ちゃんとわかっていなかった。
I had known that,
somewhere in my mind.
今ここにある時間を、
もう少し大切にしたいと思った。
But now,
I could finally feel it.
特別なことじゃなくていい。
I want to hold
these quiet moments
a little more gently.
ただ、こうして過ごせる日々を。
Nothing special—
just these days,
as they are.
