There are days
when you feel small and out of place—

like you’ve lost your shape,
your sense of belonging in this world.
I’ve felt that too.

Back in my school days,
the days moved faster than my heart could follow.
Everything felt heavy.
I didn’t know what to hold on to—
only that something inside me hurt.

But I was lucky.
I had kind friends,
and little by little, I made it through.

Looking back now,
I know those quiet struggles
shaped the strength I carry today.

And one day, I came across a poem.
“Living” by Shuntaro Tanikawa.
To live.

To be alive, here and now.
To feel thirst.
To be blinded by dappled sunlight.
To suddenly remember a melody.

Each line came like a breath—
soft and steady,
sinking into my chest.

I realized something then:
living doesn’t have to be something big or grand.

Maybe it’s in the light that touches your cheek,
in the sound of a bird’s wings,
or the moment a song drifts back to you.

That thought helped me breathe again.

I’m sharing this poem here,
not because it holds all the answers,
but because I hope
it might rest gently on someone’s heart—
just as it did on mine.
