Afternoon light spilled gently across the floor,
and I simply sat there.

To the side of the window,
I brought a chair with a backrest.

背もたれのついた椅子を、窓のそばに持ってきて、
ただ、そこに座ってみる。

Before I knew it,
though I wasn’t doing anything,
my body and mind
began to slowly soften.

気づけば、何もしていないのに、
体も心も、すこしずつほどけていくようだった。

Without having to anything,
just having a place to pause—
that alone
can bring us quietly back to ourselves.

なにかを「しよう」としなくても、
ただひと息つける場所があるだけで、
人はこんなにも、ととのうものなんだ。

The rhythm of my breath,
usually unnoticed,
returns slowly and deeply.

ふだんは意識もしない呼吸のリズムが、
ゆっくり、深く、戻ってくる。

To choose “nothing”
can be richer than we ever imagined.

なにもない、を選ぶこと。
そこには、想像以上の豊かさがある。
