家に帰ると、
LULUが
勢いよく走ってくる。

Whenever I come home,
LULU comes racing toward me.

しっぽを振って。
耳をぴんと立てて。
体じゅうで、
「おかえり!」
を伝えてくれる。

Tail wagging.
Ears standing tall.
Every part of him
seems to say,
"You're home!"

その姿を見ると、
こちらまで
うれしくなる。

Before I know it,
I'm smiling too.
His joy
has a way
of becoming mine.

私は、
あんなふうに
喜べるだろうか。

I wonder
if I've ever
known how
to celebrate a moment
quite like that.

うれしくても、
その気持ちを
そのまま表すのは、
昔から少し苦手だった。

Even when my heart is full,
I've always been
a little quiet
about happiness.

でも、
LULUは違う。

LULU is different.

うれしいから、
走る。
会えたから、
しっぽを振る。
ただ、
その気持ちのままに。

If he's happy,
he runs.
If he's glad to see me,
his tail says it all.

Nothing rehearsed.
Just joy,
exactly as it is.

全身で迎えてくれる
LULUに会いに、
家へ帰る。

looking forward
to coming home—
to the little soul
who welcomes me
with his whole heart.
