For days,
the sky carried
a quiet shade of gray.
Even stepping outside
felt heavier than usual.
Without noticing,
my eyes
and my heart
had forgotten to look up.
Then one morning,
the light returned.
The rain had simply stopped.
The sky was still pale,
but the light
softened something inside me.
Nothing extraordinary had happened.
And yet,
I found myself walking a little lighter.
Somewhere along the way,
I was looking up again.

Years ago,
during a winter in France,
the endless rain quietly settled inside me.
Day after day,
the grayness became something I carried.
That’s when I understood
how generous light can be.
Especially when you’ve been missing it.
I’ve always loved the sun.
Not because it changes the world.
But because it quietly changes me.
Maybe that’s why.
After days of rain,
even the smallest break in the clouds
can feel like hope.
Perhaps
our hearts work
the same way.
Life may look
exactly the same.
But sometimes,
the ordinary
begins to hold
a little more kindness.
It wasn’t an extraordinary day.
The sky was simply brighter.
And somehow, so was I.
