When life leaves us alone,
what is it
that we choose
to hold on to?

人は、
孤独の中で、
何を守り続けるのだろう。

I recently watched Michael.

『Michael』という映画を観た。

When it ended,
it wasn’t the music
or the dancing
that stayed with me.

心に残ったのは、
彼の歌でも、
ダンスでもなかった。

It was his loneliness.
What it feels like
to be seen by everyone,
yet understood by so few.
To keep searching
for a place
where you can simply
be yourself.

孤独だった。
理解されないこと。
期待され続けること。
本当の自分でいられる場所を、
探し続けること。

As I watched,
I found myself
remembering
the child I used to be.

映画を観ながら、
私は、
子どもの頃の自分を
思い出していた。

There were dreams
I didn’t know
how to explain.
Moments
when I quietly believed
no one really understood.
Small lonelinesses
I carried
all by myself.

やりたいことを
うまく言葉にできなかったこと。
理解してもらえないと感じて、
一人で抱えていた
小さな孤独。

Perhaps that’s why
his story
never felt distant.

だからなのかもしれない。
彼の孤独が、
どこか遠い世界の話には
思えなかった。

And yet,
he never stopped
choosing love.
He never let go
of the quiet hope
that his gift
could bring joy
to someone else.

それでも、
人を愛することを
やめなかったこと。
誰かを喜ばせたいという
想いを、
最後まで
手放さなかったこと。

That quiet kindness
is what has stayed
with me.

そのやさしさが、
ずっと心に残っている。

Loneliness
can close a heart.

孤独は、
人を閉ざしてしまうこともある。

And still,
some people
choose kindness.

それでも、
やさしさを選び続ける人がいる。

Perhaps that is
what true strength
looks like.
Quiet.
Gentle.
And more beautiful
than I had ever imagined.

その姿は、
思っていたよりも、
ずっと強く、
ずっと美しかった。
