Sometimes,
I find myself wanting to add more.

手をかければ、
きっともっとおいしくなる。
そう思って、
つい、あれこれ足したくなることがある。

A little extra seasoning.
Another plan.
Another effort.
Another word to make it better.

味つけも、
予定も、
言葉も。

If I just try harder,
if I refine it a bit more,
maybe it will become something “proper.”

もう少し整えたら、
もう少しがんばったら、
もっと“ちゃんとしたもの”になる気がして。

But every now and then,
I remember—

でも、ときどき思う。

A pinch of salt
was enough.

塩をひとつまみ、
それだけで、十分だったことを。

When nothing else is added,
the true flavor rises quietly.

余計なものを足さないほうが、
そのままの味が、
静かに立ち上がることを。

Perhaps life is the same.

きっと、暮らしも同じなのだと思う。

We keep adding—
expectations, explanations, improvements—
as if more effort
will make it more meaningful.

何かを加えなくても、
意味を持たせなくても、
がんばらなくても。

But there are afternoons
that are already complete.

そのままの時間に、
ちゃんとあたたかさがある。

A simple conversation.
A quiet table.
Just sitting side by side.

予定のない午後。
飾らない会話。
ただ、並んで座っているだけのひととき。

Nothing impressive.
Nothing dramatic.

それだけで、
満ちている日もある。

And yet—
full.

何もしない、という豊かさは、
何もないということじゃない。

To do nothing
is not to have nothing.

すでにあるものを、
そのまま受け取ること。
足さなくてもいいと、
そっと自分にゆるすこと。

It is to trust
what is already there.

今日は、
少しだけ静かに。

Maybe today,
I don’t need to add anything at all.

そのままで、
じゅうぶん。

Salt was enough.
