Recently,
I moved things around at home.

Just a small change—
a different room,
a different direction for the bed.

And somehow,
the mornings changed too.

Soft sunlight
now reaches my face,
and birdsong
finds its way through the window.

Sounds I had never noticed before
suddenly felt close.

Waking up now,
I feel something quietly loosen inside me.

Even though I’m still in the middle of Tokyo,
it feels a little like
waking up somewhere far away,
in a quiet summer retreat.

Same home.
Same mornings.
And yet,
I found a moment
I somehow hadn’t seen before.

Every morning,
with sunlight and birdsong around me,

I find myself thinking—
this feels like a small kind of luxury.
